Meditation Dance
The Meditation of Dance was opened by Bernhard Wosien. He had been a ballet dancer and choreorapher of international repute, before turning his attention to folk-dancing and bringing to it his own distinctive style.
He started Meditation Dancing at the Findhorn Community in northern Scotland, and his work led to the development since 1976 of a international network of Meditation Dancers
Friedel Kloke.Eibl, scholar and collaborator for many years with Bernhard Wosien, continues to teach, to pass on her own experiences and to open new directions at the Ausbildungsinstitut Meditation des Tanzes/Sacred Dance
It is very hard to discribe Meditation Dance in words; you have to do it with the dance itself.
However, here is an attempt!
Meditation usually refers to one's own inner centre, but by dancing in a circle with others, we may share it with them. We open our meditation beyond ourselves as we connect with our partners in the dance, to a given step. This is the special quality of Meditation Dance.
